Winter Walking Mitts are close fitting mittens featuring a cabeling pattern runing down the back of the hand. Easy enough for an advanced beginner, but interesting enough to keep even the most seasoned knitter coming back to make another pair!
To be worn with approximately .5" - 1" (1cm -2.5cm) negative ease. If you perfer a looser mitten select the size that will give you a finished circumference that matches your hand circumference.
Construction
The mittens are worked in the round from the bottom up, with your choice of stretchy cast-on (photos show a tubular cast-on). Charts and written directions are provided to show the pattern repeat for the back of the hand, as well as the palm and decreases.
Materials Required
-150 - 200 DK weight/light worsted
-US5 / 3.75mm long circular needle (or your preferred needle for working in the round) or size needed to obtain gauge.
-US6 / 4mm long circular needle (or your preferred needle set up for working in the round) or size needed to obtain gauge.
-stitch markers/darning needle/cable needle
